Simple Pleasures

Moving to UK is proving to be very exciting.
Living on a different timeline is a bit confusing for first few days. Discovering new walks of culture is fun. One such tiny bit of fun was actually eating a 'hot cross bun'.
I believed these were mythical sorts of eatables only existing in nursery rhymes until I actually saw one!
It is a traditional recipe in the list of Easter recipes and it is customary to eat these on Good Friday.

I asked an elderly woman what the cross stands for and she replied,
" It symbolizes the crucifixion of the Christ my dear!"
And yes; the bun costs more than a penny....
